Shōseki Kose Galleries

Shōseki (1843-1919) was a painter who also included some of his artwork in woodblock-printed picture books. The titles of two of these books are shown below. Click on a title to see a book's pictures of flowers and (or) birds. Shōseki drew the shapes of his flower and bird subjects very accurately which was the new and modern style at the time.
